Wanted to post this on the investorstemcell website, but have not been given the permission on that website to post. Hopefully someone who has that capability will do so.
Someone on the investorstemcell website recently started a thread called "A question of ethics... and one last theory about how we might get a little more for our shares..." I find it ironic, and wish I could laugh about it, that members of that forum would think they had any moral high ground. In the over the top effort to get some leg up or have confidence in their investment decision, here are just a few things that the investorstemcell mafia have done, several of which I think are probably criminal or at least make them liable to the rest of the shareholders if their actions result in a diminished value of our stock holdings.
1. Relentlessly called clinical trial sites and pretended to be potential patients or family members of patients, and in the process interfered with the company's relationships with some of the leading eye surgeons they need to be successful.
2. Tracked down an alleged patient through facebook postings by his son and identify him publically, probably in violation of HIPPA but absolutely an unethical violation of privacy and decorum. The facebook page they relied on, by the way, said the son's father was treated with bone marrow cells so this was either not an Ocata patient or was clearly someone who did not want his family and friends in the Bible Belt state he lives in to know he was treated with embryonic stem cells!! And after they went after this poor guy, his son had to take his facebook page down!
3. Called and wrote the NIH on behalf of a company that I imagine did not ask for their help. I suspect the NIH's unwillingness to take further action on the embryonic stem cell regulations is a direct result of being castigated and harassed by this group.
Called and wrote members of Congress which probably had the same effect.
4. Went on Howard Stern to tell the world about the work of Ocata! Personally, I listen to Howard Stern but seriously, do you not have the common sense to know that is just making the company more of a lightning rod for those that oppose embryonic stem cell research?!
5. Published every conspiracy theory or misreading of signals from the company on a public forum, which in turn became the fodder for so many hatchet job articles on the company from the likes of Seeking Alpha and HotStocked and a slew of others. There are clearly themes and "asserted facts" those hacks used in their articles that plainly come from the investorstemcell website! Nice going guys!
This is my short list. There are so many more examples of ways this group has hurt Ocata and the rest of us investors. On top of financial structure of the company that has broken for a while, I imagine that the constant interference with business relationships and second guessing of management decisions by the investorstemcell group contributed to the reasons why the senior management of Ocata thought a buyout was the only way to save the work they had done. The group at investorstemcell.com ought to be ashamed by the way you have behaved and the people you have hurt in your armchair genius approach to trying to help a company you love so much. You have hurt it more than you have helped.
