Short summary. Very positive article. "The start up brings the first antibody test to the market produced in Switzerland. An Ex-Roche Manager stands behind that. The author explains the history of Walt and his important position, he had at Roche and Siemens Healthineers. QTNT tests results are then compared to Roches, saying that both tests are equally good. Very important and the advantage is the detection of antibodies that the body produces soon after the infection. The company was founded through the scottish National Blood Servie and therefore has an existing business. QTNT invested 485 Million Dollar into the MosaiQ technology. The goal is it to combine the many tests that are required for blood transfusion on one system. MosaiQ can conduct 132 tests on one device. Current laboratories need at least 4 different systems for that. Key: The rollout of the new technology was originally planned in eight months. Covid-19 gave them the opportunity to bring the technology very early on the market. The antibody test is an opportunity for Quotient to position themself very fast. The rapid development of the test shows how flexible their technology is. They can double their capacities in the next 18 months. Walt is not concerned about the price and marketing of the machine (They offer leasing). Due to their existing diagnostics business and reagents, they have established contacts to 5000 customers worldwide." Thanks so much for doing this 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I totally agree with the boded part. Obviously that’s a great thing, but I just wonder if the current market, which is so shortsighted at the moment, will even care about that. How can you look at QTNT and not feel that they will one day become Roche’s diagnostic wing?

Nice DD. Yeah that list is long. Hopefully those companies with superior data and that have been approved in other countries/jurisdictions will get priority.

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/open-orphan-aims-to-meet-employers-demand-for-covid-19-antibody-tests-bf2dmc6pvOpen Orphan aims to meet employers’ demand for Covid-19 antibody tests The tests can accurately detect whether someone has developed Covid-19 antibodies YUI MOK/PA Conor McMahon Sunday May 24 2020, 12.01am BST, The Sunday Times Pharmaceutical services company Open Orphan is hatching a plan to make Covid-19 antibody tests available to employers in Ireland. Open Orphan subsidiary hVivo has partnered with Swiss pharma group Quotient to provide the antibody tests, which could help businesses assess the immunity of their workforces to the disease. It is launching the service in the UK next month. The blood-drawn tests can accurately detect whether someone has developed Covid-19 antibodies. In the UK, they will be available through GPs, private clinics and pharmacies, with tests completed by hVivo’s virology lab in London. It has the capacity to carry out 3,000 tests a day with results available within 24 hours. There is currently no such immunity test available here, though people can access home-testing kits, the results of which may be less reliable. Cathal Friel, Open Orphan’s Donegal-born executive chairman, anticipates there will be demand for frequent tests from companies with large workforces, such as construction businesses and financial services firms. On Friday last week, Open Orphan raised £12m (€13.4m) to accelerate studies into development of seasonal coronavirus and Covid-19 vaccines.

Yes, we should hear something very soon. Agree with you about the conclusion regarding the FDAs action against these 28 antibody tests. Another one that i completely missed: www.bazonline.ch/schweizer-start-up-zieht-bei-covid-19-test-mit-roche-gleich-851259302014Very positive article that compares the QTNT test with Roches. Walt says that they expect FDA approval very very soon. They also have inquiries from all over the world. In negotiations with different laboratories in Switzerland. Price will vary from country to country, depending on public health systems etc.

It really is setting up nicely for when it's revealed to the world that the FDA has approved an antibody test that is virtually 100% accurate. CDC: Antibody Tests For COVID-19 Wrong Half The Time

Highlights from the Jefferies call. Actually more than I expected:
1. FDA EUA request for COVID-19 antibody test requests May 6th 2. They expect approval at any moment 3. Other contracts already in place 4. Only 3 instruments left 5. Won’t be PRing every new customer
My take is that they have contracts in place in the EU (probably Spain and France as previously mentioned) that are just being finalized, and also in the US pending FDA approval. That’s just my take.
I need to relisten, but I believe he said they are already making more machines to (paraphrasing) meet the need for COVID and also for their base business.
