They finally got their launch off and all went well! And the market is responding with a jump over 30% in share price. Great. And now we can buy it at almost the same price as last week with significantly reduced risk But valuation maybe still too high...

Wish I had some $$$ freed up, as I'm seeing some value with ASTRA.
As I said earlier, if a payload blows up, meh. If people blow up... whole different story.
If anything, their struggles just prove how important this industry is, and how few will want to put their resources into making it happen.
As long as their cash runway is strong enough, there would be appear to be significant value at current levels, IMO.

I believe ASTRA will eventually get it right, but man, they can’t seem to catch a break. They are too important for lower orbit payloads to fail, imo. And NASA seemed to take yesterday’s fail in stride. I am strongly considering throwing a couple bucks on this to play the dead cat bounce.

They only state that they were not able to deliver the payload. They don't explain if the payload was entirely lost or not. I wonder what the implications are if CubeSats's equipment was destroyed?

Yeah. I’m looking to bottom feed here, but nasty headlines keep hitting the wire. Currently at $3.37, but thinking there is a chance it could go below $3.

For anyone looking for a potential quick play. ASTRA just launched another rocket into space for NASA. This one made it to space and had a successful separation. We are still waiting for confirmation that the payload was delivered. Right now, everyone is skeptical so it is in the red. But if they tweet out that it was successful there is a good chance this thing will “rocket” up. I have my finger on the buy button set a bit above the current ask. Not for the faint of the heart, but if you’re looking for a quick flip, this could be a good chance. Not advising anyone to do this:

Holy crap! It was a success! I got my buy order in just before it was halted.

Holy crap! It was a success! I got my buy order in just before it was halted. I sold those shares I bought at $4 for a nice quick 14% profit. I’ll take what I can get these days. I still really like ASTRA and think they have a very promising future. I hope to get back here at some point soon, even if I have to pay a higher price. Taxes turned out to be a but more than I was anticipating so I needed prune some positions to cover.

Space travel is hard, but jeeze. They don’t have a good rate of success early on and I wonder how many failures NASA will accept:

Yeah, the problem that I have right now with that, is that if there is cash freed up to buy stocks, there are just so many better options out there right now; companies that aren't hurting for $$$ and are have solid revenues. They're gonna need to start succeeding on the launches, and soon, because raising $$$ won't be easy for a company struggling with basic launches, and as its been stated either here or elsewhere, these payloads likely aren't cheap. I get the significant need here, but for me to throw money at is in its current state....

I'm really unsure about this, but space stocks ex-ASTR interest me more and more. RKLB specifically. Their launch system works great, the rocket works great. Company is strong. Really the blue chip among listed rocket launchers. I'll first do all necessary work on financials, but this could be an attractive timing to initiate a strategic position.

The problem is still valuation. $1.8 bn still sounds like a lot...

Their cash position and burn rate must have been pretty rough, as the stock is now trading well under a dollar, and MC on Yahoo Finance shows they are valued just over 200M.
kind of like their launch history, the story here looks like a disaster unfolding.

They're burning through all funds now; no launches til 24' and they had to set up a ATM offering to cover costs. Close to bankruptcy.

If they aren't launching anything until 2024, they're in deep trouble. It wouldn't surprise me if they did end up in bankruptcy.

They cut 16% of their workforce this week and their market cap is $147 million. I don't see how they can survive.
