thanks *jham*! hophead certainly is an intimidating presence here. keep up the good work! *EDIT* - name calling
You already asked and I already told you that I didn't approve of you changing my name. Thanks.
JHamMoved your post. No need for a sarcastic comment which will only lead to more squabbling in the thread.

Yeah, like wonton soup you get at those greasy spoon chinese restaurants. Has that salty broth and the actual wonton is pale, pasty and soft with that weird mystery rat meat in the middle. Looks good at first but the longer it's in front of you it becomes less and less palatable to the point it becomes almost nauseating. kind of a good descriptor if you ask me. And speaks for itself.

Dude--that description is about as palatable as old Hophead's posts! Clown. Clown? I thought you loved me hoss? But I do, yo. But I do. Clowns have always played an important role in public discourse. (Doesn't anyone read anymore?) Christ, you'd think calling someone a clown was a pejorative. At least I didn't compare you to a urine-flavored broth. Now, had I done that, that would warrant your protest that I didn't love you, ese'. Clown is a high, high compliment for someone with your analytical skills.

Here's a funny post i read from someone else. Some morning humor...
As the market is currently closed, I am going to tell you why the upcoming March 3 date when Wotton will speak may have a special meaning for me. I warn you in advance that if you do not believe in the supranatural and/or are not spiritual, don't read any further. Some of you may think I am cuckoo in any event but here goes: Anyways, last summer all of a sudden the numbers 33 and in several cases 333 started appearing all over the place. Just about every time I looked at a clock to see what time it was, it was something endng in 33-6:33, 9:33, 11:33,etc. This also occurred often when I woke up in the middle of the night and checked the time. It didn't stop there. When I was driving, many times I would see license plate number either beginning or ending with the numbers 33. Many times I would look at my odometer and see either the overall mileage traveled or for a trip ending in 33. And yeah there were quite a few times when I checked how fast I was going, it was 33 mph. I also got more than one would would expect statistically speaking when I bought something in a store/ate in the restarant, etc. the cost/bill ended in $.33. When I ordered in a fast food restaurant and looked at the ending numbers to see what hey were when my number would be called, yeah you guessed it-the ending numbers 33 came out a lot more than they should have by chance alone. Also, online or in written statements from my stock account and bank accounts, I saw quite a few balances beginning or endingin the numbers 33. Sometimes just gaazing out of my car while driving during the day and looking around, I happened to see a house or store restauran with numbers 33. Anyways not knowing why this was happening, I did a search on the internet to see what the numbers 33 or 333 meant if anything. Suprisingly quite a few folks have experienced seeing these same number repetitively in various situations in their everyday lives and also asked the meaning. Well various folks tried to give meaning, many of them of the spiritual type, such as they Angel numbers Christ died at age 33, good things are about to happen and many other intepretations too numerous to mention. My own gut feeling/interpretations tended toward the spiritual aspect cited above. The thought also crossed my mind that perhaps I was being told I would die in 2033 which would make me 89. I also considered the thought since I was so involved with it both financially that perhaps the numbers had to do with actc/ocata. I then had visions of the stock quickly going to you guessed it $.33 and then after the split $33. Well obviously, that didn’t happen but I continued to see the number 33 on a pretty steady basis. So fast forward to yesterday with the uplisting being announced and then that Wotton would speak on March 3, which is 3/3, and I think you might see where I am going with this. Hopefully March 3 will bring some great news(if it happens before that date, and Wotton just formalizes it, well that is close enough). If nothing happens on that date, well I will keep looking for answers. ps Yeah I know the above in a sense could be considered a little ot, but imo it is relevant at least for me. Sorry for going on so long, and whatever you do, don't mortgage your home on the stock soaring to great heights, as there are no guarantees here.

Life is complex, difficult, and obscure. Life does not readily provide solid answers to difficult questions.
However someone chooses to find meaning in life, sneering derision of their search for meaning is beneath all but the most ignorant.

This will be my last post here ever.
I received this Private Message from rickrick on January 17th, and have laid back ever since, feeling this was completely off base and undeserved "repeately talking down to people," accusing JHam of being "childlike" (WTF). I compared him to bad parenting (which is so true). Sharing my own investment strategy (ying/yang between my husband and I is critical of others???)
This thread is definitely the final straw, the ad nauseum warnings given to Hophead. I will never understand him being treated with such kid gloves. It is a FACT that you treat him like a spoiled child with baseless warnings, just as I wrote and was chastised for. I think it's pretty sad you have allowed him to drive many posters away. I know of several really sharp, sharp people who refuse to participate here because of his nonsense and all the arguing back and forth between the longs and traders.
Not to mention JHam's little slap at me about Henry McCusker, completely off topic on that thread. Reminds me of msemporda's slam about Tarot Cards off topic on iCell. But I see how it is, managers abide by different rules (Do as I say, not as I do.)
But the ridiculous slamming of OCAT about having no PR makes Hophead look like the fool he is when of course a PR DID follow before uplist.
They finally make it to NASDAQ and you guys still bitch about OCAT. Referred to as a "pivotal-like" trial when no such word (like) was used in the PR. I realize now many of you here would bitch if they hung you with a new rope.
So here is my ridiculous PR from rickrick, which on subject line he called "Friendly hello". If this is friendly, I would hate to see what unfriendly is. I was going to write him back and ask how many "friendly hello" PMs he had sent Hopead, but decided he was not worth my time. But I felt everyone here should know what this board has devolved into and let you know you have lost many good contributors.
Good riddance.
Hello patti,
I wanted to drop you a note instead of bringing it into the threads.
I respect the ability you have and the knowledge you bring to the forums, but I have to say the parent child relationship you are continuing to post is unnecessary. Chastising JHam for his administrative ability as if he is a child (along with the moderators) only serves to irritate and not help.
I'm not too far from your age and due to my nature like most of us don't care for being talked down to in this manner.
Your last post mentioning people not having yin/yang and making poor decisions only brings more dissension to the site, you know as well as I do feathers get ruffled quite easily.
JHam is striving to find a balance in free speech and total control and I feel confident that you can understand how difficult this can be, if I remember you were a moderator for a short while on iCell (please correct me if I'm wrong) so I'm sure you felt the frustration of moderating at that time.
My apologies if this flares you up, that's not my intention. I just wanted to tell you how I feel here instead of letting my emotions get the better of me on the forum.
Thanks, Rick

Patti, I appreciate you. I agree with everything you articulated with your post. The childish (not one bit funny) antics of arrested personality developed posters is disgusting.
I much appreciate HeyNow, key , jkdru and a few others.
Patti, we are both on the same page in many ways and will keep in touch.
My gratitude and respect are genuine for you.
Fondly, Debbie

Absolutely I'm going to share my honest opinion about the matter (if you want to call that bitching), after we've discussed (ad nauseam) the importance of landing on NASDAQ in a position of strength, only to have the lousiest listing I think I've ever witnessed (I think we failed twice to get listed because we couldn't raise capital at a respectable price, then when we finally list, with no cash on the books, we have no supportive PR to promote confidence about the company). I really hope they have something planned within the week, or we could be in trouble IMO. I'm seriously shocked that the company decided to list in this position. I felt certain we'd see an incredible PR (related to funding, clinical results, JV, etc..... not 1 of 40 patent PRs we've seen do nothing to the PPS). Sorry to see you go Patti (you've contributed a lot to this ACTC/OCAT group over the years and I'm very thankful for that), however I can't say I'll miss someone calling my voicing of opinion bitching. Best of luck to you!

Thanks, Rick Moved this to off topic so as not to distract from the big news of the day in that thread. Sorry to see you leave, but I can't stop you if you are so unhappy. Your email to McCusker was exactly what I said it was at the time. I am sorry if you took such a offense to that. Comparing that to msemporda is a stretch because I never said you couldn't post your email to McCusker and I even welcomed you to post your tarot card readings if you wanted. Being challenged for your posts and not being permitted to post something are two completely different things. Sorry that you somehow misinterpreted that. I never asked rickrick to send you that PM, but hey at least he sent it in a PM instead of in public. What is wrong with sending you a PM expressing his opinion of the situation? It's not like he threatened or warned you or called you vulgar names. Sorry you do not approve of my treatment of hophead. I know several great posters who also refuse to post here because of other's nonsense. It's tough finding a good balance, but I like to give people a chance and don't like to throw them on the street. That is just how I do things, and if you or anyone don't like it then I won't keep you from leaving. Let hophead bitch and eventually look like a fool in the end. Why does that matter? I guess this is goodbye then. Just remember that no one asked you to leave or said you couldn't post the things you wanted to post. All the best! JHam

What JHam says is true, I sent it on my own free will. It was sent on more of a personal level than a moderator one so don't hold it against JHam or the other moderators.

Is your only concern that the milestones weren't met two months ago? Strange perspective, if that's what's bugging you, from my perspective. It's funny because it seems like sometimes the folks most-critical of management have the most unrealistic expectations for management (didn't say naive--just going on record--thought about it, demurred). Of course, there are the overly-optimistic folks too--but I'm not so sure you aren't all different sides of the same coin. Sorry to see you go Patti. You are one of the good ones (and not just incidentally, one of a handful of folks who add value to the site. P.S. I do not include myself in that list, although I do have fun mixing it up with the clowns every once in awhile).

If expecting management to stand by a few of their many claims is holding unrealistic expectations for them... than you are correct. What positive surprising info are you referring to? I must have missed it. Go back and read the endless discussions we've had on the matter of OCAT uplisting without financing lined up... It shouldn't be a surprise that I'm a bit disappointed right now. And no, my only concern is not the milestones that weren't met two months ago (I'm assuming you're referring to the capital raise and uplist). I'll be honest and say that this did dampen the uplisting news for me a bit. My concern is the lack of integrity and competence I see from management... Plain and simple. I still have faith in the science and am still willing to give the (fairly new) management team a chance, but if you are honestly telling me that you are pleased with the progress of the company as of late... I'd say you have no expectations whatsoever. That's dangerous.

The positive surprising info was the publication of the patents. At least I was surprised by that, and pleased. With respect to my expectations, I guess they exist but they aren't brittle. As long as the milestones get hit, I'll be happy; and I certainly won't cast aspertions on anyone's integrity (not saying you are, although you did mention "lack of integrity") if hoped-for/expected dates for deliverables are moved back. To me, that's the nature of the research/clinical beast. I mean, the basic thing that's happening is that Schwartz et al. are pumping a bunch of never-before-tried cells into people's eyes. How can anyone know how long it's going to take to get through that process and on to the next phase? Add to that dealing with a very large, notoriously slow-moving bureaucracy (slow, mostly, I am sure, for good reasons--cautious might be a better word for it) and a whole host of other things outside the company's and its managers' control, and I conclude that the only reasonable expectation I can have is that timelines are going to be fluid. Just the way it is, in my view. Everytime the company provides an expected completion-date for some milestone or other, I'm frankly surprised. Why say anything at all? I wouldn't, unless I was required to by the SEC or if there was some other tactical advantage to doing so. I guess the thing that bugs me most is when folks use the pps as a proxy for determining whether the company is doing things in the right way. This is such a speculative stock right now, it's almost impossible to come up with any rational valuation. For instance, people are critical of the company for how it pr'd the uplist and how it pr'd the fact that their Phase II was being designed as a pivotal trial. I read their criticism as a reflection of their disappointment with how the share price reacted, not with disappointment over the uplist itself or disappointment with the fact that Phase II is being designed as a pivotal trial. But those two things are huge milestones, in my view, and irrespective of how the share price reacted, I'm super happy with the company for delivering those important objectives.

Jeff, It's hard to not use pps as an indicator of the company. It is a representation of how the market views them. It is the life blood of the company, pps can determine whether they live or die. They can have the greatest product in the world but if pps doesn't go up neither will the company.

Patti, Sorry that you (and apparently others) feel that way. It seems that your complaint and the complaint of others is there are a handful of posters you don't like reading. I believe there is a really simple solution to that.. put them on ignore. I believe Jham wrote up how to do that in the a thread once, but Jham, maybe we could add it as a new thread in Forum Features? (http://thebiotechinvestor.freeforums.net/board/38/forum-features) I hope people that haven't posted here because of a few people will utilize that functionality and be part of the discussion rather than use their distaste for a few posters as a reason not to post. Why let a few bad apples spoil the bunch? I think everyone knows that Jham is trying to err on the side of allowing multiple viewpoints be heard and allowing grown-ups to discuss things like grown-ups. Not everyone is going to like what is posted and that is just how it will be in any forum. In regards to Hophead, he has been banned once for a week (the only person to be on this lenient site) and knows the rules and the ramifications if he continues to break them ( Two warnings will result in an automatic 1 week ban. The 2nd ban is for one-month and the 3rd ban will be permanent. thebiotechinvestor.freeforums.net/thread/603/new-rule-enforcement-read) Good luck whatever you decide to do.
