For those watching Pres. Obama just said in the State of the Union that he is going to launch an initiative to help the advancement of medical treatments for incurable diseases.
Interested to hear more on this.

This is big news for cell and genetic based medicine.
Although it's unclear what exactly Obama has in mind in terms of spending on R&D, at the very least the White House will likely be pushing the FDA to reform and accelerate its approval process for innovative new treatments. That's been on the table for a while, but this will make it a priority.

precision medicine...sounds like he is talking about personalized medicine. that's like trying to get the fruit at the top of the tree, instead of the low hanging...talk about ass-backwards.
